PhD Scholarships available

QUT’s Institute for Future Environments (IFE) is offering a number of PhD scholarships that will support national climate change research programs. IFE is at the forefront of greenhouse gas emissions assessments from terrestrial ecosystems.

Project description

The scholarships are associated with Australian government-funded research projects that examine nitrous oxide emissions, carbon and nitrogen cycle and carbon sequestration from a range of agriculture systems.

The scholarship

The award is due to commence July 2012 and is based at QUT’s Institute for Future Environments, Gardens Point campus, Brisbane.

There is a stipend of $30,000 (tax free and indexed annually) for up to three years, full-time study.

Application criteria

Candidates require a Bachelor degree with Honours 1 or 2A, or equivalent.

In judging equivalence, QUT may consider previous study, other research experience, research publications, referrees’ reports and relevant work experience.

We are looking for a graduate within the broad fields of soil and/or plant sciences.

Experience in GIS, software or hardware development and programming, would be an advantage.

A valid driver’s licence is essential.
