Publications
In October 2010, the Livestock Research Group of the Global Research Alliance identifi ed an initial set of priority projects that it considered would greatly assist the international research effort into livestock GHG mitigation. These included establishing research networks in rumen microbial genomics and animal genomics, producing best practice guidelines and technical manuals for the measurement of methane and nitrous oxide, conducting a global survey of rumen microbial diversity, and the testing of a novel in-fi eld methane system.
MAF agreed to fund these projects (or their fi rst phases) and an RFP was issued in November 2010, administered by the NZAGRC. These fi rst priority projects for the Livestock Research Group are now coming to an end and their project reports are available to download and read below.
