2010/11 Intitial Priority Livestock Research Projects

In October 2010, the Livestock Research Group of the Global Research Alliance identified an initial set of priority projects to assist international livestock GHG mitigation research efforts.
MAF agreed to fund an initial phase for each project and an RFP issued in November 2010.
Projects included establishing research networks in rumen microbial genomics and animal genomics, producing best practice guidelines and technical manuals for the measurement of methane and nitrous oxide, conducting a global survey of rumen microbial diversity, and the testing of a novel in-field methane system.
